Do I have to have trickle vents?

Yes, they are now a requirement since changes in June 2022 to Building regulation Part F

which relates to ventilation. They are designed to allow fresh air to enter and circulate in the

house whilst forcing stale and polluted air out.

It’s worth noting that these regulations may differ for historic and traditional buildings like

listed buildings and buildings within conservation areas. The homeowner can apply for an

exemption from the Planning Council during the planning process.
